A year older, an iota wiser?
Bah. Probably not. Just older.
Saturday was fun in an exhausting kind of way. Many singing gigs but it gave me the chance to spend a lot of time with people I think are awesome. This group I sing with, these women, are so incredible. Mostly I don't understand how I can be a part of it. One of those "sum is so WAY much greater than its parts" things.
Shortie today.
Savage Inequalities, Jonathan Kozol. An oldie (well, only 1991) but a goodie about race, class and education in the US.
The most boring marketing tome I've met in a while -- about email marketing metrics. bleccchhhh. that one's for work.
COOL SITE:
Black Commentator, who describe themselves as "Commentary, analysis and investigation on issues concerning African Americans." I listen to Glen Ford's radio broadcasts on KPFK, which is how I heard about his site. Black Commentator is interesting, thoughtful, and not light reading but excellent!

1 Comments:
I read Savage Inequalities at least 3 different times in college.
I savor Kozol's works; they are amazing.
